These are 9mm pearls with peridot colored Swarovski crystals. The pendant is sterling silver with jade cabochon, and the pendant is molded in a Chinese style – somewhat like the character – of double happiness.
I purchased this pendant from a silversmith in Shanghai’s jewelry district. His English name was Michael, and his shop was filled with gold as well as sterling silver pendants. This was the only pendant Michael had like this.
Because Michael did not speak English, I asked him in Mandarin what type of jade this was because I was thinking that this was “moss-in- snow” jade. Michael smiled as he shrugged his shoulders and said, “This is real jade.”
I said, “Okay. Real jade is good!”
